My Adoption Journey
Every step of my adoption journey has been a moment of hope and excitement. After years of struggling with infertility, I decided that adoption was the path that would lead me to motherhood. I’ve been working with an adoption agency that has been supportive and has helped me navigate the process with confidence. I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and nurturing home for a child who needs it.

01
Deciding to Adopt
November 2024
My journey began when I decided adoption was my path to motherhood. After fostering children for several years, I realized that I was ready to provide a forever home to a child. My decision was fueled by my love for children and my belief in the importance of creating a stable, nurturing environment for a child in need.
02
Initial Research
November 2024
I dove into learning everything I could about the adoption process. I attended webinars, read articles, and joined online communities for adoptive parents. This stage was all about preparing my heart and mind for the journey ahead.

03
Choosing an Agency
November 2024
I carefully selected an adoption agency known for its focus on open adoption and excellent support for both adoptive and birth families. I wanted to work with an agency that shares my belief in creating positive, lifelong connections.
04
Home Study Process Begins
I will be completing an extensive home study to ensure my home is a safe, loving, and supportive environment. This involves interviews, background checks, and an in-depth evaluation of my readiness to adopt.

05
Creating My Adoption Profile
November 2024
I poured my heart into creating an adoption profile filled with photos, personal stories, and heartfelt letters to potential birth mothers. My goal was to convey my values, love for children, and the life I dream of sharing with my future child.
06
Attending Pre-Adoption Classes
As part of the process, I will be attending pre-adoption classes to deepen my understanding of parenting through adoption, including topics like attachment, trauma-informed care, and cultural identity. Thankfully, I've attended classes like this before with my foster license.

07
Meeting with Birth Moms
After my profile is shared with potential birth mothers, I will be meeting with several women to discuss their hopes and expectations. These meetings are hopefully filled with meaningful conversations, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to creating a loving plan for the child.
08
Matched with a Birth Mother
One of the happiest moments of the journey will be me being chosen by a birth mother who connected deeply with my story. Together, we'll start building a relationship based on trust and shared goals for the child’s future.

09
Preparing for Baby
November 2024
I've already started preparing myhome and heart for the arrival of my child. I designed a cozy nursery, purchased essentials like books and toys, and created a warm, inviting space filled with love.
10
Finalizing the Adoption
After everything is ready, I and the birth mother will work together to finalize the adoption process. I legally will become a proud mom of the cutest kiddo, and I plan to celebrate this life-changing moment with my family and friends.

11
First Family Day
I plan to celebrate the first day at home with my child, marking the beginning of our life together. This day hopefully will be filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a bright future.
Why I'm Ready to be a Mom..
I am more than ready to be a mom. From the lessons I learned as a foster parent to the wisdom I gained from my own experiences, I have the patience, love, and resilience to give a child everything they need. My background in health and wellness means I understand the importance of taking care of both body and mind, and I am excited to give my child the best start in life.
